Hammer Tech 8/0 AWG Assault Class XXX Power Cable
The Beast Returns.
Originally engineered by Shok Industries and now proudly reintroduced under the Hammer
Tech brand, the 8/0 AWG Assault Class XXX Power Cable is designed for one thing: moving
extreme amounts of current with uncompromising efficiency. Built from ultra-fine Oxygen Free
Copper strands, this cable is the ultimate solution for serious competitors, demo vehicles, and
anyone chasing maximum power transfer.

■■ Technical Specifications
Conductor Area 183.5 mm²
Strand Count 16,226
Strand Size 0.12 mm
Material 100% Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC)
Current Capacity 1000A @ 20ft (conservative)
Outer Diameter 28 mm
Weight 1.6 lbs/ft (≈2.36 kg/m) | 80 lbs per 50 ft
Packaging 25 ft spool

■ Performance Benchmarking
Compared to industry-standard 1/0 AWG cables (e.g., JL, RF, Kicker), which average ~53.2
mm² conductor area, the Hammer Tech 8/0 delivers:
- 3.45× the conductive area of true 1/0 AWG
- 3.85× the conductive area of Stinger HPM (47.7 mm²)
This means one run of Hammer Tech 8/0 replaces three or more runs of typical 1/0 cable,
saving space, weight, and installation hassle while delivering unmatched current capacity.

■ Standards & Sizing
Officially, “8/0 AWG” does not exist on the AWG chart. The true measurement is 183.5 mm²
(~370 MCM). But because MCM is rarely referenced in car audio and mm² confuses those
used to Imperial, we adopted “8/0 AWG” as a practical label. Rest assured — this is no
gimmick, just raw copper power.

■ Applications
- Extreme SPL and competition builds
- Power-hungry multi-amp systems
- Clean installs with fewer runs (1–2 runs instead of 3–4)
- Vehicles requiring maximum efficiency with reduced voltage drop

■ FAQ
Q1: Why should I buy this instead of welding cable?
Welding cable works fine for its purpose, but Hammer Tech 8/0 was built for car audio. It’s
purpose-designed with ultra-fine OFC strands for flexibility, consistent current flow, and
long-term reliability in high-demand electrical systems.
Q2: Isn’t multiple runs of 1/0 better than one big run?
Not exactly. A true 1/0 AWG averages ~53.2 mm² conductor area, while Hammer Tech 8/0
offers 183.5 mm². That’s 3.45× more copper in one run — fewer cables, cleaner installs, same
massive current.
Q3: There’s no such thing as 8/0 AWG — did you make this up?
Technically, yes. The correct measurement is 183.5 mm² (~370 MCM). But we coined 8/0
AWG to make sizing more intuitive for the car audio world.
Q4: Is this cable really that big?
Yes. 50 ft weighs 80 lbs. Each foot is 1.6 lbs. That’s 1600 lbs per 1000 ft. It’s not hype — it’s
oversized OFC copper.
Q5: Can’t I just look at OD to judge size?
OD can be misleading. True size = strand count × strand diameter. We publish exact specs
(16,226 × 0.12 mm) to prove real conductor area.
Q6: Isn’t this cable expensive?
Premium copper comes at a cost. If you’ve invested thousands in batteries, amps, and
alternators, why bottleneck with subpar cabling? Hammer Tech 8/0 ensures maximum
performance.
Q7: Who is this cable for?
Competitors, demo kings, and enthusiasts who want the biggest, baddest cable in car audio.
Even our factory had to check if their extrusion machines could handle it.
Q8: Do you have lugs and amp inputs?

Yes, compatible lugs are available, and we can recommend US-based suppliers. Lugs are not
included with the cable purchase.
